What is Twiends?
Twiends is a service that claims to boost your Twitter, Facebook(pages) and YouTube Friends/Followers. Great Idea!

How it works?
Twiends uses seeds to create the incentive for people to check each other out. When you follow someone they give you seeds, and vice versa when they follow you. You can decide how many seeds you want to offer per follow.

First Impressions
So I joined up, within 2 minutes I had about 6 more Twitter followers and about 5 more Facebook fans, excellent, it actually works! So I purchased the pack of 1250 seeds for $29.95, and within 2 hours I was after gaining about 300 more Twitter followers, and about 120 more Facebook fans! Sounds too good? It was…..later that night I came back to check my stats and 50% of my Twitter followers, Facebook fans where after deciding I wasn’t worth their seed! 

The weakness
Like every service Twiends has a major weakness, it’s users, the trend (or twiend!) from what I can see is to follow a user, get your seeds, let someone follow you, then go and un-follow the user you gained your follow from! A vicious circle! Now, I was impressed when I got an e-mail from Twiends saying they are aware of this and I was refunded 150 seeds, but 150 doesn’t cover the approx. 500 that are wasted from people un-following after they got what they wanted

Potential
I do believe Twiends has great potential, the service is a great idea, but more structure needs to be put behind this follow-unfollow pattern, because it has put me off buying seeds again, seen as I could physically see my money being wasted in front of me.
