Making money online, words that are going to put a smile on anyone’s face, but also put a hint of suspicion on their minds. Most people might think it’s only a myth,that money can’t be made online from home. But the truth is it can, there’s no big red button that you can press and start the money flowing in. But with a little time and effort you can end up with a nice income from the internet.
The Fiction
There’s a lot of people/places and websites that claim you can make easy money from home on the internet. Usually they claim you can start making hundreds of Euro from home a day, just by simply spending a few minutes to an hour or two a day completing surveys or viewing ad’s. These never work. Sometimes there will be a legit few that do actually pay out for doing their surveys or watching ad’s for 30 seconds. But the payout from these sites isn’t worth the time you take. You could only be talking in a couple of cents to a couple of Euro a day, for a few hours work. They will often let you purchase Premium Accounts to help you boost your income. But it’s not worth it really.
The Fact
Here’s the fun part, and where it gets good. The truth is you can make a nice income just using your home computer. There’s a few legit options out there such as affiliate programs, this is where you sell a companies product or service and you keep a certain cut of the end sale price. Sometimes as good as 75-80%. But you need a good audience and be good with sales to master this revenue stream.
What I’m going to tell you about is Google Adsense. This is a brilliant service offered by Google. This is by far the hottest topic when it comes to making money online. Some people out there are making hundreds of thousands a month using this service.
What is Adsense?
Adsense is an advertisement serving program run by Google where website owners can use this service to enable text, image, and video advertisements on their websites. They can then gain revenue on a cost-per-click basis. The amount of money received per click depends on the value of the ad itself.
How much can I make?
This is entirely up to you. To get a nice income from Adsense you will need two main ingredients.

Traffic, and plenty of it! Traffic is very important when it comes to Adsense. You need people to click the ad’s!

Good Ad Placement, this is VERY important when it comes to making an income with Adsense, a lot of people will place an ad on their site, hidden at the bottom or the side and wait for the clicks. You won’t get any. The ad’s need to be placed in prime positions to get the attention of your readers, and they also need to look attractive.
What if I click my own ad’s?
You would be surprised of the amount of people banned from Adsense for clicking their own ad’s. This won’t work, Google know exactly what goes on with your ad’s. They know exactly where the click originates from and are always on the look out for click fraud.
How do I start making money?
To join the Adsense program you will need a website or blog. If you don’t have one you can join any of the free blogger services out there such as http://blogger.com, create a blog and put up a few good posts. Then head over to http://google.ie/adsense and submit an application. You will get an e-mail soon letting you know if your application has been successful. Once it is, you can use your Adsense ad’s on any website or blog you own to gain some extra income.
