There has been a few laptop batteries replaced lately due to loss of life, as these aren’t cheap could anyone with a company laptop take note of the following:

• Try and use your laptop on battery power at least once a fortnight.
• When using your laptop at home, do not use it on a pillow, cushion etc. This causes serious heat build up under the laptop leading to loss of battery life and also damage to the internals of the laptop itself.
• At the end of the day make sure the laptop is cooled before packing it away, just give it a few minutes to cool down, if it is still noticeably hot to the touch – it’s too hot. Heat build-up in your laptop bag is another factor in destroying a batteries long term use.
